Yes. If you let a home in England, the law requires a satisfactory Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) on the fixed wiring at least every five years, and at the start of a new tenancy. It is a structured inspection of the consumer unit, circuits, sockets and switches, with every finding coded so you know what is safe, what needs attention and what must be put right. You have to give a copy to your tenants, and to the council if they ask for it. Let it slip and you risk a substantial fine, so it is not one to leave to chance.
