An Electrical Installation Condition Report, or EICR, is a full health check of everything electrical in a property, from the consumer unit to the furthest socket. How often should I have an EICR?
Rented Norwich homes need one at least every five years or at a change of tenancy. For your own home, every ten years is the usual guide, sooner for older installations and when you are buying or selling.
How long does an EICR take?
Two to four hours for most Norwich homes, depending on size and the number of circuits. I work cleanly and put everything back exactly as I found it.
What happens if the report comes back unsatisfactory?
It just means one or more items need attention. I explain exactly what they are in plain English and give you a fixed price to put them right, with no pressure to book on the spot.
