EICR Electrical Safety Reports in Sprowston

Sprowston, on the north-east side of Norwich, is one of the largest suburbs on my patch, and its housing runs from the older homes around Wroxham Road and Blue Boar Lane to the big modern estates spreading towards Beeston and the northern bypass. An EICR is a full health check of a property's fixed wiring, consumer unit, circuits and sockets, and whatever the age of your Sprowston home, it tells you clearly whether the installation is safe to keep using.

I work methodically through the whole installation and code every finding by how urgent it is, then set it out plainly rather than burying you in jargon. I am NAPIT registered and DBS checked, I work to BS7671 and I certify the report properly. Where something needs putting right I give you a clear fixed price and certify the remedial work myself, so the whole job is handled by one electrician.

Older and modern homes

From the Wroxham Road area to the newer estates towards Beeston, I test the full range of Sprowston properties.

Plain-English findings

The formal BS7671 report plus a simple summary of what matters, what it costs and what can safely wait.

Certified remedials

If something needs attention I give an honest fixed price and certify the work once it is done.

Your questions, answered

How often should I have an EICR in Sprowston?

Rented homes need one at least every five years or at a change of tenancy. For your own home, every ten years is the usual guide, sooner for older installations and when buying or selling.

Do you test the newer estates as well as older homes?

Yes. Even a fairly new Sprowston home can develop faults or carry work that was never properly certified, so a report is still worthwhile, especially if you are buying or letting it out.

How long does an EICR take?

Two to four hours for most Sprowston homes, depending on size and the number of circuits. I work cleanly and put everything back exactly as I found it.
